What’s up next?

I’ve now written two essays in Russian and one story (I won’t publish the second essay here though, I feel it may be a bit too provocative ^^) and I feel that it has been very effective. There will be more essays, but not straight away. And now then?

I’ve had major issues with the verbs expressing need and necessity, and I’m going to try to focus on those this week and weekend, as well as collective numerals, of whose existence I became aware yesterday. However, I thought it was about time I did some translation work. Input instead of output this time.

So, Aleksey (no, I will never leave you alone), I was thinking along these lines: you find me a fun article like you did last time. I translate it into English, and you check my translation. Then I translate it further into Swedish, and make a dual text out of it? Yes yes? Perhaps we can even do some fancy recording stuff to work on our brilliant Russian and Swedish accents.

I also really want to do some Listening-Reading, but I just don’t get it (how much should you understand? should you just don’t care if you don’t understand? etc.). And what I’ve found so far in terms of material that actually interests me, The Little Prince and Wuthering Heights has audio that differs from the written text (the audio to the Little Prince at uztranslations also…) and now I’m just stuck with texts without audio. However, I do have L’Ecume des jours as an audiobook, that’s the super famous book by Boris Vian for those who don’t speak French, and it should be rather easy to track down the text and the translation. And make a dual text? O_O

L-R requires: a long text in your target language and a translation + audio in your target language. I am ordering a couple of dual language editions from France that will be all mine in the middle of June, and those are all classics (=easy to find recordings of), so perhaps I’ll just wait until then.
